FACILITY
Chamberlain
Park Pool is located at 400 East 2 nd Street in Chamberlain Park . There
are two separate pools within the facility and both pools are heated to
an average of 80 degrees but can vary due to weather conditions. The wading
pool has a zero depth entry to 2 feet and has a slide for the young tots.
Depth in the main pool ranges from 3 ½ to 9 feet with the “Drop
Zone” slide that provides excitement for older kids and adults. In addition
there is a 18 foot high with 120 linear feet flume slide that drops into
3 ½ feet of water. A concession stand provides a variety of items
for your appetite.

Staff

Age levels are broken down by skill levels. Children's skills will be

StarBabies
™ (Parent/Caregiver with Child
ages 6 months-36 months)
The
purpose of this course is to develop in very young children a high comfort
level in the water while, at the same time training parents in water safety
and drowning prevention. This course does not teach children to be accomplished
swimmers or survive in the water; it does provide a confidence building,
fun, loving experience. One parent or caregiver must be in the water with
the child. Swim Diapers are required.

Pre-school
(Ages 3-5)
Designed
to meet the needs of pre-schoolers, this class will develop a high comfort
level in the water, a readiness to swim, and for those children that are
developmentally ready, teach beginning swim skills. Students work toward
development of the five core swimming competencies and receive color level
patches for each achievement. Program approaches teaching skills through
creative, fun activities.

work toward development of the five core swimming competencies and receive
color level patches for each achievement. The color levels are used to
divide students into broad ability groups. Children progress at individual
rates with the opportunity to learn core swimming skills and progress
to advanced strokes. Learning is self-paced but challenging.

FRIDAY
NIGHT FLOAT NIGHTS
Every
Friday evening from 7-9pm during the summer you can bring in your rafts,
noodles, beach balls, etc. to kick off a fun weekend. The float toys will
not be used on the slides, no exceptions. The manager reserves the right
to inspect to all float toys and has the right to decline any unsafe float
toys. Regular admission for the pool is required.
FATHERS'
DAY AFTERNOON CELEBRATION
On
Sunday, June 15 bring your dad to the pool for some fun in the sun. Dad
will get in free with a paid child admission. Let's have some fun playing
games and swimming with dad on his special day.
JULY
4 TH CELEBRATION
In
honor of our country's independence all are welcome to come wearing red,
white, and blue. The pool will close for the day at 5pm and will NOT open
for the evening hours.
WACKY
WEDNESDAYS
Join
us for a fun filled afternoon from 1-3pm as we will play games for all
ages and swimming abilities. Each week will be a different theme. No additional
fee for this event. All games are for fun and no prizes will be awarded.

Gator

SWIM TEAM
A
great tradition and still growing. Gator Swim Team is open to all levels
of swimmers and individuals with disabilities are welcome to join the
team. This is a recreational team that has home and away meets. An information
meeting will be held Monday, May 5 and Tuesday, May 6 at 6:30pm at the
Administration Building . Parents and swimmers are required to attend
at least one of these meetings as swimsuit sizes will be taken. If you
are interested in becoming involved with helping at meets, newsletter,
attendance, etc. an additional meeting will be held at a later date. For
additional information contact Kathy Jurs at 784-2366.

We
are limited the youngest group to 10 swimmers.

Lifeguard Certification

Lifeguard Certification Class
This
Season Genoa Park District is an authorized Training Center for StarGuard
Lifeguard Certification. The StarGuard course prepares lifeguards in prevention,
surveillance, and professional skills at levels that exceed common standards.
This course is all hands-on and will provide all the necessary certifications
to be a lifeguard with the Genoa Park District. Please bring a lunch and
drink every day. Must attend all days and must be age 16 by June 8, 2008.
Dates/Times:
Friday, May 16: 4-8 pm; Saturday, May 17: 10am-5pm; Sunday, May
18: 10am-5 pm.
